Karine Duguay, MSW

Registered Social Worker

Karine has been a registered Social Worker since 2009. She obtained her Master's degree in social work in 2022. Her Master's degree  thesis focused on understanding the experiences of female bodybuilders. She also specializes in working with people living with anxiety and depression.  
 
Karine worked in a multidisciplinary clinic treating obesity in young people, working in collaboration with parents. She was able to support parents in making changes to improve family management skills. It should be noted that treating obesity is not linked with weight loss, but more specifically about improving relationships with food. She is certified in the 'Craving Change' training of CBT principles. She has also worked with parents of children with chronic illnesses such as diabetes 2, arthritis, etc. Karine also has experience with addictive disorders. Karine is presently working on having her certification in EMDR and sees clients online only with this approach.  
 
Karine has a lot of energy and is always full of renovation projects. You can see her in the summer at the golf course, where she enjoys playing and giving of her time to encourage women's participation in the sport.
