Jessica Paradis holds a Bachelor’s in psychology (minoring in biology) and a Bachelor’s in social work from the Université de Moncton. She completed a Master’s in social work from Dalhousie University focusing on clinical practice. She is a registered Social Worker since 2016, and a member of the National Institute of Forensic Social Work

since 2019. She also sits as a member of the New-Brunswick Criminal Code Board of Review since 2020.

 

Jessica held different positions in the field of community mental health and forensic psychiatry. She focuses on evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy and Narrative Therapy. She works

with adults and families and also practices high conflict co-parenting interventions that are designed to assist parents who are experiencing significant ongoing conflict after Separation.

 

Jessica specializes in Clinical Forensic Social Work; this combines elements of clinical social work practice with forensic knowledge and skills to address the complex needs of individuals in legal context. Some of her training relating to this field of practice are: Forensic Social Work Level 1 and Level 2, and Forensic Clinical Interviewing. She has conducted parenting capacity assessments and completed a training in parenting capacity assessment in child protection Court.

 

Her main area of interest relates to threat and violence and she has completed training in risk assessments and management tools including: The Level of Service/Case Management Inventory (LS/CMI), Victim Safety Planning using the ASAP, Assessing Risk for Violence using the HCR-20, Intimate Partner Violence using the SARA and the

B-SAFER, and Stalking Assessment using the SAM.
