About the event

The Mind at Peace Centre would like to inform you of an Equine therapy camp that will be offered for the first time this summer. This camp aims to offer youths an enriching and helpful experience on an interpersonal and psychological level while providing them with opportunities for gathering and fun among a peer group. The central themes addressed during the camp through equine therapy and other related activities will be self esteem, self confidence, managing emotions and healthy relationships.


Marie-Pierre Godin, MSW, RSW. equine specialist will offer equine therapy service during the camp. The camp counsellors have an academic and practical background in the field of mental health and with horses. Amilia Thériault Mallais is a psychotherapist and yoga instructor will be the camp counsellor along with Dahlia Dempsey who has 11 years of experience in accompanying and caring for horses.


The camps are subject to possible partial reimbursement by some insurance companies. The cost of the camp per participant is 600.00 taxes included and must be paid in full before the start of the camp. In addition, during the camp, workshops will be offered by the co-owners of the EL2ES organisation, Eve Arseneau, psychologist and Lyne Chantal Boudreau, university professor who will discuss relationship difficulties. They are experts in their respective fields on healthy relationships and consent in relationships.


The camp schedule will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will largely take place on the farm. Then the last day (Thursday) will be at the beach, weather permitting. A letter will be sent following registration with all relevant details to be provided in order to properly prepare participants for their stays.


To apply for a registration, you can go to www.centremieux-etre.ca and select the 'equitherapy specialisation' in the service tab. At this level, a registration platform will be available. In order to submit your complete registration, a registration fee of $100 as well as the consent sheets must be paid and signed. Please note that the deadline for camp registration will be June 11, 2022.


The camp will last four days. The first delivery of the camp will be dated June 27 to 30 and will be delivered for children aged 9 to 12 inclusive. The second delivery will be dated July 4 to 7 for participants aged 13-16 inclusively. The content delivered during the camps will be adapted to the pre-established age groups. In the event of an abundance of registrations, an additional week of camps could be offered. To this effect, once placed on the waiting list, you will be notified in advance.
